Brytton Bjorngaard, Associate Professor
I design, photograph, make, and teach.
I was born in Minnesota and have spent my life as a rolling stone, living in Oregon, Minnesota, Spain, Italy, Iowa, Washington, and now Illinois. I received an MFA in Graphic Design from Iowa State University and a BA in Graphic Design from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, with a Minor in Media Communications. I am currently an Associate Professor and Director of Visual Arts at the University of Illinois Springfield. I previously held positions at Whitworth University and Iowa State University. I teach courses in Graphic Design / Digital Media, including introductory technology, print, typography, web, animation, digital and film photography, and professional skills. In addition to teaching, I am a freelance graphic designer and was a co-director of DEMO Project (a former artist-run contemporary and alternative project gallery).
